Shiver Me Timbers!
I’ve been pirated! It must be going around. Today I was tipped off to http://2xbpro.com. There’s no testing or learning going on here. This is live.
UPDATE: The site has been taken down. No need to flame anymore.

They’ve even changed the copyright information! All rights reserved my…

What makes it even more ironic is that they’re a “Web Design” company. I can’t even understand how people could do this. Unbelievable.

Hey dude. Sincere apologies. That totally sucks and I hate it when people do that. From what I’ve been noticing, you’re right on the fact that it’s been going around. That deal with Shaun and then David Shea’s recent post on Dealing with ripoffs, it’s crazy. Be sure to report him to pirated-sites.com to let it be known. Also, if you can contact their host about getting them temporarily shut down. It’s worked on a few occassions when I’ve been spammed.
As a loyal reader I’ll definitely do what I can as far as giving them a swift kick.

One more thing…
Quote: Quote2xbpro’s web developers, graphic designers, and technical support team has well over 4 years of experience in this company, and the work that this company provides for you!

My goodness. It’s just…retarded.
stumbles for the right words to say
What’s even funnier is that he made your site bad. None of the pages validate either. His logo sucks…and…ugh. hands in the air shaking fist.

Be sure to check out their other offerings, including the fantastic “original programmed script” that’s taking the world by storm, Grep Search!
Google search on the comments, and you get:

That’s the worst yet! I thought Shaun’s case was annoying enough… but this is just frustrating to the point of laughable!
Why-o-why would any self respecting designer “Save as…” another designers site?!?
Ya know, I have, in my time.. taken inspirational cues from other sites farther than I should have. I’d bet we all have. Luckily, in most instances, I’ve caught myself and corrected it with a more original idea before going any further then a photoshop design composition. In all cases though, I borrowed no more than an all too similar color scheme or some other slight visual hint from my inspiration. Who would think to go so far as to completely and entirely rip someone else off?
I can’t think of a time the thought has ever crossed my mind.
There is a difference between being a “trend-whore” and a pirate. This is pure piracy.
The whole thing about web design, to me, is it’s fun. It’s fun to create something. It’s like playing with Lego’s… who copies the instructions illustration by illustration? What’s the fun if you’re not building something new?

I love this entry from their portfolio. It sports the most basic design ever, yet was realized only through multi-level table nesting and a healthy mix of soupy tags. :chuckle:

Site is now just displaying a directory index.

The site has been taken down, and I have received an apology from the company owner. No need to flame anymore. My only hope is that this will be (yet another) lesson to anyone even thinking of piracy. Thanks to everyone who helped me resolve this.

Dang, I’m ticked. I didn’t have time to flame after work and by the time I got home the flame was put out. I was really looking forward to it. Oh well.

the moron must have found out that he did something stupid. He password protected his whole website.

Glad you resolved the issue, It has happened many times to me, and usually an email to the author reolves the problem.
As usual they reply with a lie… “we hired a freelancer”.
right…

That kills me – they should have at least have the decency to change the header graphic!

This is a really great layout :D I’m kidding about trying to justify theft – but I honestly see no way around people pirating and in a backwoods, twisted way – you have to be flattered that they chose you.
