NDWG V1.0

Yesterday we released version one of our brand new Notre Dame Web Group web site. Our designer gave me quite a challenge, but I believe the result is a clean, effective tool for communicating a glimpse of who we are, while encouraging human contact. There are still lots of things we want to add, but we felt it was time to roll out something – anything – to let people get a better idea of our capabilities, and our personalities.

While this site may look simple from the beginning, it’s actually one of the most complicated sites I’ve ever developed. One of my goals for future additions is to more appropriately clean and comment the CSS files, but when you’re on a tight deadline, those things have to wait until later. So enjoy, poke around, and let me know what you think.

  1. not bad, not bad attal. So you say you didn’t design this, but developed it?

I get that a lot when I’m handed a design fresh out of fireworx. it’s often tough to think what the designer was originally thinking.

other than that, you can probably put the image team.gif in your css as a background rather than an image on the team page. It doesn’t seem to represent any real meaning so you might be better off just putting it in as layout element.

    Anyway, t’s looking good Steve.
    good job.

  2. Very nice. Tough layout indeed with the fixed bottom and all. I like how it breaks the mold of most the sites that I see. I give it four salsa bowls (that is good).

  3. i love it! it’s well designed and cleanly coded. great work.

my only request for change is for the portfolio page: the first time i looked at it, i didn’t realize that text link at the bottom was to go to the next piece in the portfolio – i thought the portfolio only had one piece. and then the name of the link confused me – i couldn’t figure out if it was going to take me to the Office of IT site or the next page in the portfolio.
