Finishing the Basement
Since last Christmas I’ve been working on finishing my basement. Before you go thinking I’m too handy, I’ve had plenty of help from friends, family, in-laws, and the wife. And I’m proud to say that it’s all but complete. A few people have asked me about it, so I thought I’d post a few photos here of my new space. I moved my office down here and also set up an entertainment room, complete with my new HD TV (a.k.a. my Christmas present from my wife).
After framing walls, running wires, hanging drywall, finishing drywall, refinishing drywall, re-refinishing drywall (etc., etc., etc.), painting, carpeting, and decorating, I’m pretty sure that I will never do this again. I have a new-found appreciation for contract labor, especially drywall finishers. I was covered in so much white powder it felt illegal. So hats off to the construction worker. From now on you can do my construction work, I’ll make you website. How’s that for a deal.

Not only is your desk much neater than mine, I’m also jealous of your space. My office is in the bedroom, so when my husband goes to sleep before I do (rare) I need to grab the laptop in the living room. I have been thinking about getting one of those Poäng chairs from IKEA… how comfortable are they?

it needs more posters…but then there goes the clean look ;) lol.
I’d show you a pic of my work place…but I’d be too embarrased of revealing how close I sit next to my co-worker.

I’ve seen you’ve also got that ikea char (haven’t we all? ;-) )
They sure feel comfortable, but I can only advise you spending too much time “working” in it. You will bust your back.
That’s coming from a guy who’s known to spend up to 12h / day in the exact same chair. Once in a while you just have to sit at a proper desk just to allow your back to recover from the abuse.

Wow for a guy you decorate pretty well. I must say that the MJ album both frightened and titillated (my word of the day) me.
