Download Counter Update 1.3

I’ve finally gotten around to updating my Download Counter for Mint to 1.3, making it acutally work with Mint 2.0. Simply download the new files and move them into place. More info can be found on the Download Counter page.

  1. I’ve been wondering if you would ever update this plugin.. it’s such a good one, as I’m always curious as to what is being downloaded and what isn’t!

Out of curiosity, did you have anything to do with the download pepper here?

  2. Jack: Yeah, I was pretty far behind on this one. And no, I don’t have anything to do with that Pepper.

  3. You know, I would love to use something like this, but with all of my 200 hits a day, it just doesn’t seem worth it to “Have a Mint”...

  4. J DAVID: Actually, mint is cool enough to track my website that only has about 8 visitors a day :)

  5. Installed and thus far is working like a charm, cheers :)

  6. J David: It’s still neat to track where people are coming from in real time, and some of the additional Peppers that have been created are really pretty neat. Might be worth another look-see.

Aaron: Glad it’s working for you.

  7. I don’t really have that many downloads on the site. A couple of scripts including flashBug which as suspected is the most popular.

But its still nice to see stats for what is downloaded as hopefuly it means that the people downloading it are using it. And when you put scripts etc online you ultimately hope that people will use them and find them useful.

Which is definitely the case with your pepper :)

  8. Just bought Mint and installed this Pepper, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Seems like others are having the same problem (see Download Counter pepper not working in Mint 2.0? in the Pepper Forums. I’m using Mint 2.06 and running WordPress 2.1.3, if that makes a difference.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  10. Since you don’t have a comment form on your site, and I’m too lazy to open up my email program, this is just a heads up to know that http://chartreusian.net has ripped your site, and as usual in these cases, did a crap job with it.

  11. Found a slight issue with the counter, if you have a really long file name (or its nested in a few folders) the name can force the content to overflow beyond the box and overlap with the peppers next to it. I applied a quick fix to mine on line 261 I changed it from just $file, to substr($file, 0, 60),

I know not perfect/pretty but it works ;)

  12. Any chance of finding out how to get your Download Counter to work with a Mint installation tracking and e107 based website?
